Agnondas

Just a turn below Amaranto and 8 km from the town, there is the pinewood Agnontas. It was named after the Peregrine Olympic Champion of Agnontas or Agnon, when he turned a winner from Olympia in 569 BC, in the race of the road and landed with his ship at this point. To honor him, they gave his name to the region and his face is depicted in a silver coin of the classical era. There the pine trees literally touch the sea and the sunset is unique. Agnontas is the fishermen's harbor, as many fishing boats are tied up and every night they swim in the open to fish fish and squid (the famous beans) that you can enjoy if you sit in one of the many fish taverns. Distance from Skopelos Town (Port) 8 km about 10 minutes by car.
