Agios Fokas beach

Agios Fokas beach

An unspoilt natural beach on the west of Skyros with amazing blue and clean waters. Agios Fokas lies in a small bay, about 13 km southwest of Skyros Town. The lovely beach is hidden engulfed among lush pine tree hills which stretch to all directions. It is named after the quaint white chapel which sits on a small hill overlooking the bay. The beach itself is a mix of sand and pebbles and usually has shallow and calm waters thanks to its southern orientation, making it perfect for families with children. During summer, there is a traditional tavern by the side, serving drinks and delicious fresh fish but apart this one, there are no any other facilities available. You may find some sun loungers offered by the tavern but you’d better have your own equipment with you.

There are two ways to get there. You can either drive to the Atsitsa beach and then towards Agios Fokas or you can drive to the beach of Pefkos and then head towards Agios Fokas. If you choose the second route, you will enjoy some panoramic views over the sea towards the bay and the beach of Pefkos, and some of the islets that surround Skyros. The last two hundred meters to the beach are on a dirt track.
