Monastiri beach
Monastiri beach is a beautiful and peaceful beach in Poros, below the iconic monastery of Zoodochos Pigi. There are loungers to hire and a small snack hut serving both hot and cold food and drinks. The beach is hidden amongst an olive grove off the beaten track with beautiful and idyllic views and a pine forest as a backdrop. Monastiri beach is sandy with minimal stones and has crystal-clear waters. It is very popular for families with young children and gets very crowded during the summer months.
Access is very easy, as there is a bus that runs from Poros Town to Monastiri beach several times a day. There are also boats and taxis to take if you do not have your own vehicle. If you love hiking, you can walk from Poros Town. It is a long walk (approximately 55 mins) but nice. Monastiri beach is 4.1 km (9 mins) away from Poros Town. If you choose Monastiri beach to spend the day, do not miss to visit the historical monastery of Zoodochos Pigi which is nearby. We would definitely recommend a day here if you like cosmopolitan and organized beaches.
