Agiofili beach

Agiofili is a spectacular beach and great for snorkeling. The secluded beach is small, covered in white pebbles and the water is stunningly blue and warm. Swimming in the bay is an absolute delight. The water is crystal clear with lots of fish swimming round. To the right of the beach, you can see a series of small ledges that people use to jump off. There is also an about 10-meter jump into deeper water for the extremely brave that can climb to the top of the cliff and jump. The water of the beach gets deep very fast.

Agiofili beach is mainly accessible by boat but you can also drive to the beach via a narrow and rocky dirt road. It is a dusty bumpy track, excellent for quadbikes, less forgiving for normal cars. The track lasts for about a mile. Once you arrive there is parking for a price and a cute little food van to get some supplies before you walk down some steps to get to this impressive beach. Standing at the top of the steps really gives you a picture postcard view of Agiofili and is a great spot for taking some amazing photos.

Agiofili beach is presented in all tourist guides and maps as a place worth visiting also presented in most postcards of Lefkada. Thus, it suffers horrendously from overcrowding due to the boatloads of people that get dropped off every hour. So, to experience the beauty of this beach, try to get there early in the morning. In order to get access to an umbrella and set of sun loungers you really need to arrive before 10am which is when the first boatload is dropped off. Agiofili really is the perfect place to spend a day soaking up the Grecian sun in one of the top beaches of the Ionian Sea.

The beach is located at the edge of Vassiliki Bay, on the southern part of the island, 2 km from Vassiliki and 35 km from the city of Lefkada.
