Gialos beach
A long and peaceful beach with only the sound of the waves. Water is clear and blue and the beach itself is shingle, so if you want to be comfortable, bring some water shoes. Once in the water, the pebbles are huge and not easy to negotiate, however towards the edges there are less pebbles. Because of this, it is not ideal for non-swimmers and families. Do go in though, it's so worth it. There are usually waves that create a churn at the shoreline so it Ιs a bit murky. The beach is not crowded, making it is a good place to relax. Sun beds and parasols are available to rent, but if you take your own umbrella and walk along the beach a short distance you can pick your spot without anyone sitting around you.
Driving down to this beach is a challenge. The turning off the main road takes you through some farmland and olive groves before you meet a very narrow road with lots of twists and sharp turns. The reward is the amazing view to the beach on the way down, free parking and a few cafe-bars serving what you need to get through the day. Gialos beach is about 35 km southwest of Lefkas on the west coast of the island. Athani is the nearest village to the beach with some good accommodation options available.
