Pefkoulia beach
If it is just a nice long beach you are after in the north west of Lefkada, then look no further. Just like all the beaches on the west side of the island, the water here is crystal clear and warm. Pefkoulia beach is one of the finest beaches on Lefkada, known for its natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere. It is a long stretch of sandy beach with mountain backdrop behind and views of Agios Nikitas and the mainland out to sea. A great beach for swimming, sunbathing and snorkeling with plenty of sunbeds and free space available. Car parking and easy access are an added bonus. The organized part gets usually busy so get there early to make sure of a sunbed. There is also a beach bar for a relaxed coffee after a swim and an area for nudists beyond the big rock. On the other hand, if you want to avoid the busy part, walk a little to the far end and you can have space away from the crowds. Pefkoulia is a nice and quiet beach although it is a bit of a struggle to get out of the sea as it drops very steeply. If it is very wavy, swimming should be avoided unless you are a fairly strong and experienced swimmer. Pefkoulia beach is very close to Agios Nikitas and easily accessible by car or bus.
