Psathi beach

Psathi beach

Psathi is an excellent unspoilt beach with plenty of natural shade on the main stand. Goden sands prevail with a few pebbles. The water is crystal-clear and very inviting, but there are a few slippery rocks to negotiate when entering. It gets deep quickly too. The beach offers fabulous views over the sea to Naxos, Iraklia, Koufonisia and along the beach to Paleokastro. There is a taverna a couple of hundred meters back up the hill and the views from the terrace are even better than down on the beach. Here, you will find an atmosphere of the old Greece pervades, and there are no noisy crowds to be seen.

Psathi beach is located on the eastern coast of Ios, 16,7 km (28 mins) from Chora. Getting there is easy either by car, moto or ATV, and there is ample parking space for your vehicle. Overall, Psathi is an excellent place for a peaceful experience on Ios Island. Tips: We would recommend to walk north to a series of idyllic little coves which offer respite from the Meltemi (summer wind) and are ideal for naturism.
