Plakes beach
Plakes beach is among the most impressive and beautiful beaches on Ios. A remote and secluded beach on the eastern side of the island with golden soft sand and blue waters, very private and perfect if you want to escape and spend some time with reconnecting with nature. Here there aren’t any facilities, so you will need to bring essentials such as water, snacks and maybe an umbrella as there are no trees for shade. You might be joined on the beach by a few other people, but Plakes is definately much quiter than most beaches on the island. Surrounded by cliffs, the bay is perfect for snorkeling, spear fishing and diving into the calm and clear water. Plakes beach is located near Kalamos, 16km from Chora and access is not that easy, however, this fabulous beach will recompense all your efforts.
