Loretzena beach
Loretzena is a small off-the-beaten-track beach, on the west side of Ios Island. The beach is totally isolated with no facilities or shade, so you should bring all the basics, including an umbrella for the hot sun. The beach lies in a protected cove surrounded by cliffs and has soft sand and crystal-clear azure water. Seabed is rocky and the beach doesn't shelve gently into the sea, so not ideal for children and non-experienced swimmers, yet a good place for snorkeling fans. It is a very quiet place, perfect for those who want to stay away from crowds and a nice place to spend a few hours before heading to the next beach. Loretzena beach is located 5 km north-west of Chora and getting there is very easy either by car or moto. If you go there in late afternoon, you will enjoy a beautiful sunset, watcing the sun color the sky before hiding behind Sikinos Island.
