Gialos-Ormos beach
A great beach next to the port with watersports and beach bars to have a great time. It is mostly sandy and has a good selection of sun beds, some of which free if you buy a drink. The sea water is very clear despite being right next to the port and shallow for children. Being next to the port is also a good spot for watching the ferries come and go. You can catch some shade under the beach pines lined along the coast. The beach is more family orientated but very tranquil. It is not overcrowded with sun beds unlike other beaches on the island where you are literally sitting on top of people with no privacy. If you don’t want to hire a sun bed there is plenty of free space for everyone. Behind the beach, you can find hotels, rooms to rent, cozy bars and nice restaurants. Getting there is very easy either on foot or by road.
