One of Greece’s Premier Gaming Spots in Western Greece
Rio Casino first welcomed guests in 1996, quickly establishing itself as a vibrant hub of entertainment and gaming in Achaia. For over two decades, it provided premium services to both locals and visitors, offering a lively atmosphere, an extensive selection of casino games, and a touch of luxury that helped redefine nightlife in Western Greece.
Beautifully located by the sea, the casino offers stunning views of the famous Rio–Antirrio Bridge and Mount Panachaiko. It is housed within the elegant 4-star Porto Rio Hotel & Casino, a resort set in 35 acres of lush greenery. Just 8 km from the city of Patras, the resort is easily accessible by local public transport and private vehicles alike.
The easiest way to reach the resort is by car. Located approximately 200 km—or a scenic two-hour drive—from Athens, it is easily accessible via the Athens–Patras National Highway. After passing through the Rio tolls, take the exit on the right and simply follow the signs leading directly to the resort.
As of September 2023, Rio Casino has permanently closed its doors following the decision by the Hellenic Gaming Commission to revoke its operating license. Though no longer in operation, it remains a fond memory for many and a notable chapter in the entertainment history of Western Greece.
