Bring Your Chair/Cozy Festival was the idea of two friends, Faye Kazantzidou, an art director from Thessaloniki, and Paola Jovinelli, a businesswoman from Milan, who met up every summer for years in Sifnos. The concept and inspiration came from the ‘60s, when the traveling cinema would come to villages and set up on a chair, projecting the film onto the walls of houses. The spectators brought chairs to sit and watch the show. The festival includes music performances, book readings and other events. The events take place in a variety of venues and locations around Sifnos Island, and more recently to the nearby island of Serifos. This year's program of events includes:

Alexander Payne returns to the 1970s and, along with his favorite actor Paul Giamatti, the excellent Da' Vine Joy Randolph, and the breakout newcomer Dominic Sessa, unfolds a story that balances between drama and comedy. The film screening will take place in the presence of the director Alexander Payne, followed by a Q&A session with the audience. The discussion will be moderated by film critic Nikos Savatis.
From 19-21 of September, Artemonas hosts the Cycladic Gastronomy Festival "Nikolaos Tselementes". The three-day festival has become an institution and is internationally recognized. Representatives from other Cycladic islands along with representatives from one honored guest Aegean Island meet in Sifnos to present their gastronomic and cultural traditions. Amateur and professional cooks and chefs prepare and present recipes from their islands of origin. Visitors can taste those recipes for free. At a part of the main square the “Little Tselementedes” (6- to 12-year-old kids), wearing aprons and cook hats, participate in cooking games and contests, specially created for their age. The festival opens to the public every day at 18:30. At 22:00, traditional music and dance events take place. The entrance to the festival is free so is the food. At the same time parallel events run such as presentations of traditional costumes, a small bazaar, photo and painting exhibitions and seaside cooking.
The feast of Agios Ioannis in Choni, in Mavro Chorio, in Sideros, in Faros and in Maggana at the same time. At the feast of Agios Ioannis in Choni, wine, revithada and pasta are served with meat or minced meat after the evening prayer and there is also live music lasting until the early hours. It is a special experience for the foreigners who visit the island.
