The festival of Agios (Saint) Panteleimon takes place on the tiny islet of Hiliomodi, where an evening vesper service is performed on the eve of July, 27th every year. The vespers are followed by a big fair where locals and visitors show off their dancing skills. The faithful arrive on the islet by boat sailing from the port of Patmos, Skala. The festival attracts a large number of visitors and is accompanied by delicious food and drinks.
The fair of Panagia of Geranos is a traditional feast that takes place annually on August, 15th at the courtyard of a small chapel dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin. The chapel is located on top of a hill in a very beautiful area. The feast starts early in the evening and last all night long. Food and drinks is available to all. Musicians play traditional music and sing traditional songs while all the others practice their dancing skills on local dances. This is one of the most important feasts that takes place on the island, and is very popular among the locals and the guests as well.
The feast takes place on the chapel of Agia Thekla which is located on the homonymous islet just across Agriolivadi beach. On the eve, lots of faithful from the island of Patmos go to the tiny islet by boat, to participate the evening prayer service. After the end of the service, coffee is offered to all participants, followed by a feast with eating, drinking, singing and dancing, till very late in the evening.
