On the 20th of July, the inhabitants of the lovely village of Kioni, reach the small church of Agios Elias (built on the rocks by the sea) with their little fishing boats to attend the holy service and celebrate the feast of the saint with a huge feast back in Kioni, full of live traditional music, dances, tasty food and excellent wine.
The Feast of the Savior in the village of Stavros on the 5th and 6th of August, lasts for two whole days and, as such, is the longest and largest of the summer loved by all visitors, local and foreign. The central square of Stavros is where the event takes place and it bursts with energy, dance and friendship where food and drink accompany the enjoyment of the non-stop live orchestra music. For many, these two days are the definitive ‘summer in Ithaca’ moments, a community celebration with a tradition of over 100 years.
Α feast is organized, in Anogi village. This feast is the one of the most unique due to the picturesque village. In Anogi there is only one "kafenio" so the people of Anogi take over the grilling of skewers and the local wine serving to please the visitors of the village. The feast usually last until dawn and usually its the most successful of the year.
The Feast of the Virgin Mary in the village of Platrithia is officially the last summer festival of the summer. Usually one of the biggest festivals of the year, some years competing in the crowd and even the fair of Stavros, as the visitors of the island and the "Thiakoi" say goodbye to the summer season with this feast.
