Italida (Platia Pounta) beach
A great beach with fine sand and super clear and shallow waters, but if you are not into nudists, then stay away. Italida beach is probably the most nudisty beach in Koufonissi. It is a nice bay to swim in with gradual slope and sand underfoot in the water. The sea is lovely with this amazing green-blue color. There are no shadow options neither any facilities, so be organized when deciding to visit with a beach umbrella and a bottle of water in a backpack cooler. The nearest taverna is 10 minutes back at Fanos beach and the nearest beach bar at Finikia beach.
There are round trips to the beach from the island’s harbor. It is a 5 minutes ride and very enjoyable. To walk there takes around 30 mins from the town passing a couple of other beaches on the way. If you want to enjoy the silence in August, go to Italida in early morning but the beach is also lovely in the late afternoon. Italida beach is quite small and with little room in high season. If you want to enjoy the beauty of it however, go in June or late September.
