Maragas beach
Maragas Beach is one of the many superb beaches along this stretch of the Naxos coast, with beautiful rock formations, lovely soft golden sand and a backdrop of trees. There is a kilometer long stretch of beach that is great for walking and swimming that starts about 220 meters south of the bus stop and continues south toward Plaka Beach. The turquoise waters are visually stunning. Sand is soft both in and out of the crystal-clear water. The beach itself is lovely and clean, partially organized for those who want loungers and umbrellas and with abundant free space for those who want that.
Maragas Beach is a short walk from Agia Anna Beach, just south of the white small chapel on the hill. The closer you get to the church the more nudism is practiced. Mostly nude, older couples, young couples, single men and women everyone feels relaxed. There is good bus service between Maragas and Naxos port and a nice board walk from Maragas to Agia Anna. This is probably the prettiest beach in the area and provides great views of the famous Greek sunsets. There are some great tavernas and bars in the area, some right on the beach. The road along this stretch is untarmacked with some good parking spots. Maragas beach satisfies all what you might look for and is a perfect place for a beach day.
