Kriaritsi beach
Kriaritsi beach is located in the south of Sithonia, near the beach of Sykia, facing the open sea and the peninsula of Athos. It is a long and wide beach with golden sand, crystal and deep waters of vivid colors, changing from bright turquoise to a deep navy-blue. It is divided into the central beach and some smaller coves that offer shelter to nudists and those seeking tranquility and isolation. Kriaritsi beach is also very popular among campers and you may see tents pitched on the coast.
Approaching the beach is a bit tricky, due to the complexity of the roads but well worth it. The road goes through the so-called Ghost City of Sithonia, an urban project that was never fulfilled. A couple of beach bars, parasols and sun loungers are available on the main beach but there is also plenty of free space to lay your own towel. At the back there are two campsites and a few tavernas. Kriaritsi is rated among Sithonia’s top 10 baches and definitely a destination to put on your beach list.
