Find Serenity on Messenia’s Stunning Coastline
A gorgeous little beach in a beautiful and well-protected bay near Filiatra, on the western side of the Peloponnese. Stomio beach is a hidden gem of Messene and undoubtably one of the best beaches in the region. Despite the fact that is only 150 meters long, it is very popular and attracts crowds of people, especially in July and August. The beach itself is mainly sand mixed with soft pebbles and has crystal-clear water. The bay is surrounded by greenery due to a stream that once emptied at this point. Water is deep and swimming in the beautiful bay just great.
The main part of the beach is organized with umbrellas and sunbeds and there is a canteen with all the basics, but there is also free space if you want to use your own equipment or lay your towel on the sand. However, it may be extremely difficult to get a sunbed or to find free space during the peak season, if you do not get there early in the morning. Stomio beach is 10 kilometers from Kyparissia and 3.2 kilometers from Filiatra. It is easily accessible by car and there is some parking space right above the beach.
