Acropolis of Poseidion
The acropolis of the ancient city, Poseidion, was built above the city on a hill of 23m in altitude.
The preserved antiquities are dated from the Hellenistic period, although it is speculated that the Mycenaean settlers had built their own acropolis on the same spot several centuries before.
Nowadays, the visitor will see parts of its fortification and retaining walls as well as a cistern.
