Church of Agios Nicholas
Agios Nicholas church in Inousses, is built in 1952 downtown and is dedicated to the patron saint of the island and protector of all sailors, Saint Nicholas. Being surrounded by houses, the church stands out for its beauty and monumental value, while it is the pride of the residents. The cathedral temple, built over the ruins of the old church that was demolished in 1924, is decorated with elaborate frescoes and there you can find thousands of offerinf from sailors and their families. There is also retained piece of the Sacred Relics of the Saint, which was formally transferred from Sicily in December of 2001. Agios Nicholas is honored by the faithful with great solemnity and many visitors arrive in Ιnousses in 15 of August, when the brilliant religious customal of the burial of the Virgin takes place.
