Seli Ski Resort
The Seli Ski Resort is located at the southwest part of Vermio in Central Macedonia. It offers 17 km of marked trails with 65% (11 km) of the total trails ideal for beginners and 35% (6 km) of the total trails being suitable for intermediate skiers and snowboarders. It has long distance race trails and can hold international ski events. There are 11 lifts among them the first one installed at a ski center in Greece in 1955. The ski resort covers an area 1,483 acres and offers skiers and snowboarders a 400 m vertical drop. The winter sports area is situated between the elevations of 1,500 and 1,890 m. It has been operating since 1934 and for many years was the only ski resort in Greece.
A parking area is available 200 meters away from the lifts. Only 100 meters from the huge parking lot you will find a big refuge belonging to the Veroia skiers’ association and a smaller one belonging to Thessaloniki climbers’ association. The big refuge can accommodate up to 120 people and the small one up to 70. You can also find a chalet, restaurants, a ski learning school, playgrounds, ski equipment rentals and a first aid center staffed with specialized personnel. An ambulance is also available to transfer patients fast to the nearest hospital. The Seli Ski Center is 24 km from Veria and 95 from Thessaloniki via the Egnatia Motorway. It is fully equipped with snowploughs for the fast cleaning of the roads and snowmobiles for the transportation of the employees to the slopes and lifts. It usually operates from November to April but this depends on the snowfall and the amount of snow on the trails.
