Elatochori Ski Center
The Elatochori Ski Resort is located on the northeastern side of the Pieria Mountains, at an altitude of 1450m. It is in a prime location with spectacular view of Mount Olympus and Aliakmonas River and is a very popular among winter sports enthusiasts due to the its excellent infrastructure and the splendid nature that surrounds it. The Ski Center features 10 slopes of 12,000 meters total length with a varying altitude difference and levels of difficulty for both experienced and non-experienced skiers, a snowboard slope and a sled track. It also features one aerial double seat lift 1,187m in length with a capacity of 1200 persons per hour which serves Clio and Erato slopes and 2 sliding lifts for the rest of the slopes. At the base of the Ski Center at the location "Papá Choráfi", there is a modern chalet which can host 400 persons, with a nice restaurant and a snack bar on the ground floor. There are also a few skis’ equipment sale and rental shops, two ski learning schools for beginners and a first aid clinic open on a daily basis. The Ski Center usually operates from December to March and has a parking lot for visitors. The Elatochori Ski Resort is only 8 km away from the picturesque village of Elatochori, 36 km from Katerini, 474 km from Athens and 120 km from Thessaloniki. At the village of Elatochori, visitors can find hotels, rooms to rent, traditional tavernas and small cafes.
