In the northernmost village of the prefecture of Serres, in Agistro, and 8km away from the Greek-Bulgarian borders, is the oldest Turkish bathhouse.

The Byzantine hammam of Agistro dates back around 950 AD and is characterized as a true cultural monument.

The sources of Agistro are considered among the best in Europe, they have a temperature of 39-41° C and the waters are ideal for:

  • Arthritis
  • Diseases of the circulatory and nervous system
  • Dermatologically diseases
The abundance of the hot curative water, the pleasant environment and the accommodation facilities, compose a place of care for human health and well-being.
