Monastery of Evangelistria – Profitis Ilias
This path leads to the highest point of the island, at an altitude of 698 meters above sea level. It is approximately an hour’s uphill walk to reach the top of the mountain where a picturesque whitewashed church sits. The church is dedicated to Profitis Ilias and he view of the volcanic crater, the village of Nikia and the surrounding islands is breathtaking. The start point of the path is at the Monastery of Evangelistria which can be reached by road.
