Armolia - Apolichnon Castle
The route starts from the main road, at the site of the ceramics workshops of the Armolians. We follow the rural road, passing through the plain with olives and mastic trees. The landscape there is purely rural. The rural road reaches a starting point of the ascent, where the slope is now more intense.
There is a resting place with wooden benches and tables, as well as remnants of buildings, contemporary to the castle, but unknown to us. The continuation of the course takes place on a paved path, between pines, hollies, chines and shrubs.
Closer to the castle, the landscape changes to rocky with low vegetation. In our view is added the village of Patrika.
The last steps of the course are made in modulated stairs leading to the eastern side of the castle, to the point where the collapse of the wall allows access to the interior. On our right is the largest and most powerful tower of the castle.
