Sfendouri – Eleonas
From the north of the village of Sfendouri begins a stone-built cobbled path that passes through fields with terraces full of olive trees. The walker will enjoy the view of the West (Perdika, Moni, Methana) and passing through two beautiful chapels, he will reach a large stone threshing floor. Within a few minutes, the path ends at the "Achlada" sandwich. The slaves or otherwise the barrows used to collect rainwater for their needs for water supply and for watering the animals.
From "Achlada", making a small detour through a hill path on the rocks, one can reach "Drakospita" or "plakota", stone buildings in the ground with large flat stone slabs for housekeeping. Fully adapted to the environment, they are of great historical and scientific interest.
From "Achlada" to the north, begins a downhill path that leads us to the ancient Eleonas. An unexpected place of rare beauty with rich flora and fauna (herbs, weeds, peas, olives, wild boar, horses, butterflies). Landscape inseparably linked to the style, form, and legend of Aegina's tallest mountain, Oros.
Protected by the neighboring mountains, the area resembles a natural basin that gathers its waters, a reason why surviving the stunningly stunning olive trees survived. The path leads to the chapel of Agia Triada with the old stone-built closed reservoir and the black-washed pots.
The course as a whole is the hiking route 2 of the network of Cultural Paths.
The course is well marked, while at the beginning and at crucial points of the route there are signs of information and direction.
