Hydra - Kamini
Following the west coast road from Hydra Town, we pass through the pine-covered neighborhood of Alyaki and reach Kamini , a small, natural, picturesque harbor full of fishing boats, with a beautiful pebbly beach and traditional taverns.
The path to Kaminia, especially during the afternoon, offers you to gaze at the sea and the magnificent sunset from the benches.
In the small port of Kaminia you will see the old house of Miaoulis, the "Red House", as they call it, which was built in 1786 and had been closed for many years. Built by the American private foundation Verena Foundation and renovated in 2007, it is used to organize exhibitions lasting until mid-September.
The Kaminia are considered to have been named after Sifnos potters settled here and created their kilns.
