R3 - Mersini - Livadi Beach
Trail 3 is one of the shortest hiking routes in Donousa. It is a low difficulty path that takes about 30 minutes to complete. It starts from Mersini village and ends in Livadi, a lovely beach with gorgeous waters. Although this trail is short – only 900 meters (0.35 mi) each way – it can be quite challenging as it has large elevation differences and is quite steep in places. Easy to descend but quite demanding on the way back up, especially on a hot summer day. However, a pleasant surprise awaits near the end of the trail. A detour leads to a shaded area of invigorating water springs, a proper oasis to stop and catch your breath. A second detour heads to the remote beach of Fikios and the small harbor of Mersini.
