Kato Petali lies east of Apollonia and stands amidst a small hill. It is one more traditional Cycladic and picturesque village of Sifnos that shares the same name with the settlement in Ano Petali, although the two villages are not geographically next to one another. The settlement stretches around a central paved square where the beautiful church of Zoodochos Pigi stands, having a paved folk art in its courtyard.
A short scenic trail (about 15 minutes) starts from Apollonia and ends at Kato Petali. In Kato Petali there are rooms to let, restaurants, grocery store as well as the Sifnos Music Workshop "Fragiski-Psararopoulou Karoris".
