Posidonia is a seaside settlement of Syros, in the Bay of Foinikas, and is located southwest of the island.It’s distance from Ermoupolis is approximately 12km and is one of the most popular summer resorts in Syros.

Formerly known as Delagratsia from the Catholic Church of Madonna de la Gratsia, it finally prevailed with the name Poseidonia dedicated to god Neptune (Poseidonas) as the most prestigious resort of Syros.

In the settlement dominates the country villas with the turrets and gardens that travel visitors to the splendor of another era. Do not miss to visit the orthodox church of Agios Ioannis, where there is a big feast on August 29th, the Catholic church of St. Peter, built in 1860 on the top of the hill and the villa of Tsiropina (residence of the former Mayor of Ermoupolis) that it is used for various cultural events. The Posidonia Club with its tennis court, among the oldest in Greece, attracts a large number of visitors, especially during the summer season.

The great tourist development of the settlement will allow you to find plenty of accommodation and shops.
