Avlakia Pserimos
Pserimos (or Avlakia) is a small fishing village, the main port and the heart of the whole island. It is also the only settlement on Pserimos. All life revolves around the bay of Avlakia where there are a few rooms to rent and some tavernas serving homemade, traditional food and fresh fish. The small port gets really crowded during summer with lots of sailing and day cruise boats, visiting the small coastal village. The few residents are mainly engaged in animal husbandry, fishing and tourism.
In the village there are no cars, making it ideal for nice walks. Right in front stretches a long sandy beach, distinguished for its golden sand and its shallow, turquoise waters. In Pserimos there is not much to see but you can enjoy lovely beaches and good food.
Pserimos is an ideal destination for those seeking relaxation, away from the overcrowded islands as well as a popular destination for day trippers coming from Kos and Kalymnos. From the small port of Pserimos start trails to the rest of the beaches. It is worth joining one of the boat trips that organized daily to the tiny islet of Plati with the lovely beaches with the limpid waters.
