Agia Paraskevi (Platanias) beach

This is a lovely quiet and clean beach with a beach bar, shop, toilets and water sports to hire. The water is beautifully clear and not too cold, good for swimming and snorkeling as there is some fish to see. It has golden sand and the entry into the water is smooth, making it perfect for families with young kids. What makes Agia Paraskevi special is watching the swans each day going up and down the beach. There are plenty of sunbeds although some are reserved for guests of the hotel, however there is plenty of room to lay towels.

The beach is located in the southern part of the island, 7 km from the Skiathos Town and is one of the largest beaches on the island. It is named after the little chapel of Agia Paraskevi, located in the area. Every year on the 26th of July a typical Greek bustling feast is organized in the yard of the little chapel in honor of the Saint, with local dances and plenty of food and drinks. Access to the beach is easy either by car or bus from Skiathos Town.
