Kapsali beach
This is a must visit beach. It is so picturesque and swimming in the crystal-clear water is just wonderful. It offers lovely views from high up with great photo opportunities abound. The lovely beach lies in the southernmost of Kythira and actually consists of two bays forming a natural omega shape. The beach is quite large and features both an area with pebbles and another one with fine sand, giving you the choice to choose which suits you best. It is protected from most prevailing winds so the water is calm and good for small children and elderly, making it a great beat for an extended family. Elderly or disabled people have access via a chair on a track into the water. The beach is organized with umbrellas, chairs, water bikes and there is a choice of restaurants and tavernas close by. It offers great views to the little island of Chytra and the castle high in the Chora. Kapsali beach is one of the most cosmopolitan beaches on the island and very popular among families and young couples. But if you prefer privacy and peace it is better to choose some other beaches as this one is very crowded and noisy during the season.
