Agios Onoufrios beach

The sandy beach of Onoufrios is a quiet beach in a protected bay, 8 km north of Chania and close to the village of Kounoupidiana. It is a small but beautiful beach with umbrellas and loungers to hire and a small canteen with all the basics. The beach is named after the Byzantine church of Agios Onoufrios which is located there and celebrates every June, 12th. It is chosen mainly by locals and has a small fishing port at the edge with some benches and trees for shade. Agios Onoufrios beach has a traditional tavern and is organized with showers, changing cabins, parking space and a lifeguard. The beach is accessible by private cars and motorbikes and the only con are some fuel tanks on its left side, however, the water is very clean and the beach has been awarded several times the blue flag.
