Valtos beach
A very nice beach round the headland from Parga town. Valtos is a long beach with the castle of Parga at one end and a small harbor and church at the other. It is a very clean beach area with plenty of eating places and room at the end for those who do not want to pay for a sunbed. The beach is very beautiful and deep blue, but it can be very busy most of the time. Water is crystal-clear with lots of little fishes which bite lightly. Half of the beach is sharp sand, so not so family friendly, the other half is sand. The sandy bit is from the middle down towards the harbor end. The castle end is shingle and beach shoes are needed.
There are lots of sunbeds near the restaurants and staff will provide service to the sunbeds. Two water sport areas are available too, if you want to have some fun. You can reach Valtos Beach from Parga old town on foot. The walk (15 mins) is really nice and you will get a really nice view of Valtos beach from Parga castle on the hill. If you are not keen on walking, there is a great boat service from Valtos Beach to Parga harbor, which runs every 30 minutes. Sailing boats often come in and moor up for the night, which makes it very pretty with great views to the castle which is all lit up. Overall, this is lovely beach to spend the day while on holiday, but if you are looking for a quiet place to relax, we would recommend you to visit this beach in quieter months.
