Church of Panagia Flabouriani
The church of Panagia Flabouriani is an old church dedicated to Virgin Mary mentioned in many of Kythnos' local myths and traditions. It is located at the top of a small peninsula in the Bay of Flabouria, in the southwest part of the island and divides the beach with the same name, into two sections. The church is an important religious monument of Kythnos and according to tradition, the traces seen on the path going from the beach all the way to the church are the footsteps left by Panagia (Virgin Mary). The church celebrates its feast on August 23rd.
