Archaeological Museum of Astypalea

A building in Pera Gialos that the Charitable Fund of the church of Astypalaia ceded, has been housing the museum since 1995.

Findings dating from the Neolithic period to the Middle Ages, such as vases from the Mycenaean vaulted tombs in Armenohori, bronze objects, tools and weights made of lead and dating back to 1300 BC, silver coins from the Classical Greece period, dedicatory inscriptions from temples of the Olympian gods, architectural parts from early Christian churches and Venetian reliefs are part of the museum’s collection.
