The Folklore Museum of Panormitis of Symi

Housed in the Monastery of Panormitis along with the Ecclesiastical Museum of Symi. The Folklore Museum of the Panormitis Monastery includes a collection of antique antiquities, the old cellar, a traditional Symenean living room with a bedroom, the first kitchen of the Monastery, agricultural tools, and measures of the 19th century as well as the domestic occupation of women with the old loom, etc. In a separate area of ​​the museum are also kept the personal items and the radio of the unforgettable Chrysanthos Maroulakis. The monastery also includes a library where about 6,000 old and new volumes with varied content, such as theology, philosophy, mathematics, medicine, and literature, are kept. In the Gallery of the monastery there are exhibited contemporary paintings that have their subject to the Monastery and Symi.
