Kyra Panagia beach
Kyra Panagia beach is like living inside a postcard. A fantastic beach with crystal-clear waters and great views. Kyra Panagia got its name from the church that lies at the top of the hill on the right side of the beach. It is considered a small corner of paradise and is among the most photographed beaches on the island, especially from the terrace of the famous church with the red dome, which offers a spectacular view of the beach.
It is characterized by a wild look that makes it even more magical. The beach of Kira Panagia is a sandy beach with a semicircular shape and is surrounded by imposing white cliffs that create a spectacular scenery. It is located in the middle of the east coast of Karpathos, 15 km northwest of Pigadia. The golden sand in combination with the fine pebbles, the pines that go down to the beach and the crystal clear deep blue water, create a spectacular setting.
The beach is organized with a beach bar, umbrellas and sunbeds. At the back there are taverns, restaurants and hotels. Getting there is very easy through the provincial road Aperiou - Spoas, passing through the village of Aperi. The difficult part is not the road with the U turns, is to find an umbrella set. The beach often gets over crowded, so we would recommend to visit it early in the morning or late in the afternoon. Kyra Panagia Beach is close to the famous beach of Apella, so you can combine two beaches in one day.
