Lefkos (Gialou Chorafi) beach
Lefkos beach is truly a magical place with its pristine turquoise waters and uniquely distinct stands of beaches. The front beach is a sandy paradise with shallow waters and minimal waves perfect for young kids and families. To the right of the main beach is another fantastic beach with dramatic splashing waves with a blanket of smooth stones covering the sands. A short walk to an amazing rock formation is a must for those who dive or are snorkeling. The main beach is set in a fisherman’s village with tavernas and cafes surrounding all three bays. Sitting under the stars at night at a beachside cafe with the moon reflecting off the nearby waters is so serene and tranquil as you hear the waves gently splashing on the beach. The beach gets crowded during July and August, so best to go at the end of the day. Along with the tavernas, there are many little small hotels and a couple a mini market. The beach is organized with sun beds and has all the basic amenities. Being less than an hour driving from Pigadia, Lefkos is a great place to spend a day. Truly a hidden gem that is a must see along with the Island of Karpathos.
