Ambelakia Xenia beach

Ambelakia also known as Xenia Beach is a long sandy beach west of Koukounaries. It sits in a lovely bay surrounded by pine trees which offer visitors natural shade the hottest months of the season. The beach itself has soft sand and shallow water. Kids will enjoy digging the sand or building sand castles. There is a beach bar with great facilities. It plays music and gets very busy most of the time, especially in high season. Away from the bar, there is plenty of free space to lay your own towel, particularly if you paddle round the rocks at the northern end. Above the beach stands the abandoned for years Xenia Hotel, one of the first hotels built on Skiathos. To get to the beach, take the bus and get off at stop 26. From the bus stop is a bit of a trek down the hillside to reach the coast. If arriving by car, you’d better park at the bottom of the dirt track by the bus stop and then walk the rest of the way. Ambelakia beach is approximately 14.4 km (26 mins) from Skiathos Town. If you visit Koukounaries or Banana beach, do not miss to visit Ambelakia as well.
