Agalipa beach
Agalipa beach on Skyros’ northwestern coast, is undoubtedly the most beautiful beach on the island. It is a combination of two beaches in a beautiful bay surrounded by colorful rocks and pine trees. The rocks are colored red, violet and yellow due to the many minerals in the rock composition. Both beaches are lovely with sand and clear, blue waters. Agalipa beach can be reached by boat from Kyra Panagia or on foot through the forest. The path starts from Agios Petros and the hike takes approximately half an hour. It is a pleasant hike under the shade of the pines, but a bit demanding in the last section.
To the south there is a smaller beach, with a shipwreck on shore. This beach is known as Agalipa Shipwreck, due to the remnants of a boat that crashed on the shore after a heavy storm some years ago. Although smaller than the other one, it is equally beautiful with coarse sand rather than fine sand, and gorgeous waters. Both beaches are secluded with no facilities or whatever. Shade you can find only under the cliffs until the middle of the day, so bringing an umbrella may be a good idea. Also bring water, snacks and sun protection.
