Archaeological Museum of Ancient Messene

The Archaeological Museum of Messene was built in 1970 to house findings from the excavations carried out in the archaeological site of Ancient Messene, from 1895 until the end of the 20th century. It is a small two-storey building with three exhibition halls, all in the first floor. The collections offer visitors the opportunity to discover the importance of the ancient city of Messene, as a political and cultural center of the Ancient Greek world. The museum is located on the road to the Arcadian Gate, 500 meters from the village of Mavromati.
