Flomochori
Flamochori is a traditional village of eastern Mani. The village is known for the tall stone towers with some of them being habitable until today. The towers were built from the 17th to the 19th century as fortified houses like most of the towers in Mani. Apart from the impressive towers, there are many remarkable churches scattered throughout the village, such as the church of Agia Triada (Holy Trinity), the church of Agios Asomatos of the 13th century adorned with frescoes of the 13th and 14th century, Anikos (Agios Nikon) with the built-in marble of an ancient sanctuary and the cruciform church of Agia Kyriaki decorated with remarkable murals.
Flomochori lies in the east part of the peninsula, 4 km from Kotronas near the seaside village of Halikias Vata with the beautiful pebbly beach.
