How to get to Leros

There are daily flights from Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” to Leros and vice versa. The average flight time is about 1 hour. The airport is located in the northern part of the island, 9km from Platanos. To get around you can take a taxi or rent a car from the car rental agency at the airport. By Boat

From Piraeus

There are several ferries during the week from the port of Piraeus (Gate Ε1) to  Leros throughout the year. Most ferries depart in the afternoon, some others in the evening. The distance between the two ports is 171 nautical miles and the trip duration is about 11 hours. The main port of Leros is located in Lakki, the island’s biggest village.

Connection to other islands

Due to its geographical potition, Leros is ideal for island hopping around the Dodecanese and the islands of North Aegean. From Leros you can travel by ferry to Patmos, Kalymnos, Kos and Rhodes in the Dodecanese as well as to Kavala and Thessaloniki on mainland Greece. Flying dolphins connect Leros to Patmos, Lipsi, Kos and Samos during the summer months and small boats make trips to Symi, Tilos, Nisyros, Kos, Kalymnos, Lipsi, Patmos, Agathonisi, Samos and Rhodes.
