Marmari beach

Marmari is located on the northwestern coast of Kos, in a picturesque area, 15 km far from the island’s capital, and 4 km away from Pyli. The vast, sandy beach is one of the most popular in Kos, however it is never crowded due to its size. Marmari beach is well organised with plenty of umbrellas and suns beds available, while fans of water sports will find everything their hearts desire. There are plenty of restaurants, tavernas and coffee shops across the bay area for a snack, lunch or simply to get a coffee and refreshments.

Tips

Α long and sandy beach, with very shallow water. You can stand in the water for about 50m far from the beach. The permitted kite-zone is only about 10m wide. The presence of trees makes launching and landing very tricky, therefore the place suits better more advanced surfers.

Best time of the year to be there is from June to September, although the season stretches from May to October. The north-west, thermal wind (meltemi) blows onshore, starting at around noon and stopping with sunset.
