Folklore Museum of Megisti
This small museum is housed in a former mosque. Its name is perhaps misleading because this is a museum dedicated chiefly to the island's turbulent and dramatic history. The Museum shows the journey of this quaint old sea port over the centuries, displaying old photos, artifacts and on some days a captivating video presentation. The collection is fairly basic but informative and gives a good overview of the island's complex and overlapping history. The island went through some very sad, brutal and difficult times but the people of Kastelorizo never gave up. It is a very interesting museum, very informative and easy to cover in 30 minutes. Please note there is a small fee to enter and the video is shown only once a day at noon.
