Palaio Faliro

The Eugenides Foundation’s New Digital Planetarium is one of the largest and best planetariums in the world. It opened its doors to the public in November 2003. The 278-seat amphitheater is made up of 945 m² and is surrounded by a huge dome. Thanks to state-of-the-art technical equipment and modern audio-visual media, projects spectacular images showcasing the latest developments in astronomy and other natural sciences. The spectacle is very impressive and the audience feels like they are in the projected environment. The Planetarium produces two new original digital shows every year. In its premises feature a science and technology center, workshops, exhibition hall, conference center and a digital repository.

You can reach the Planetarium by car or public transport. Buses 550 (Paleo Faliro-Kifissia), B2 (Agios Kosmas-Syngrou/Fix) and A2 (Akadimia – Voula, via Amfitheas) on their way to Athens central, stop at Eugenides/Planetarium stop. Buses 550 and B2 from Kifissia to Paleo Faliro and from to Syngrou/Fix to Agios Kosmas respectively, stop at Onaseio bus stop, just across the planetarium. Bus line 126 (Paleo Faliro-Syngrou/Fix) stops at Trapeza stop and line E90 (Panepistimioupoli-Piraeus) at Chrisaki stop. Lines 550, B2, A2 and 126 are served by Syngrou-Fix Metro Station and bus line 229 by Dafni Metro Station.
