The House of Shadow

"What we see is always less than what you look"... The House of Shadow was founded by Triantafyllos Vaitsis, a man born and raised in Greece, who studied Environmental Engineering and worked as engineer before turning fully to art. The art of shadows fascinated him and led him to quit his job and become a full-time artist. Since then, he has embarked on a journey of designing and creating shadow art installations. He has plenty of national and international exhibitions and many of his shadow art sculptures now belong to private collections and have been commissioned by large companies. The artist uses recyclable material and fabrics to create abstract sculptures that create intriguing shadows against the wall when the light hits them just right, The abstract sculptures include faces, figures, scenes, visual illusions out of scrap and various materials. If you are in Xanthi, go visit this place, it is an outstanding experience for both adults and children. If you are lucky, you will meet the artist and have him explain several of the pieces. The small museum is located in Xanthi’s charming historic neighborhood. Highly recommended.
