Fournoi

Fourni Korseon is a group of small islands between Ikaria, Samos and Patmos. Only the two largest islands - Fourni and Thymena along with the smaller eastern island Agios Minas are inhabited. Fourni is a place that conquers you with its simplicity and where life runs smoothly. It is the perfect place for all travelers who are looking for calm and an authentic Greek everyday life. The island is known for its unspoiled natural beauty, crystal-clear waters, and traditional way of life. Due to the engagement of its inhabitants with fishing, the island’s cuisine is also renowned for its fresh seafood and traditional dishes. Fourni has craggy but fertile hills, a walkable serpentine ridge, with views down to coves and to more distant islands, an acropolis site, and dozens of scattered chapels, churches and monasteries.

On the island, there are a number of beautiful beaches, and two villages the largest of which has the same name as the island. The atmosphere at Fourni Town is cozy and full of character, but what makes the town so special are its friendly and hospitable residents. When you meet locals, they exchange friendly greeting and after a few days, you will feel like one of them. Built amphitheatrically around the harbor, the town boasts a cluster of narrow streets with old houses of traditional architecture, on both sides. In the evenings locals and visitoes relax in the traditional cafes with a glass of ouzo and roasted octopus, and enjoy the sunset. If you are looking for peace, you like to hike, enjoy Greek homemade food or simply want to experience an authentic Greek island, Fourni is the place you must visit.

Fourni Korseon is a complex of tiny islands, islets and rocks in the Eastern Aegean. Fourni Island is the largest of all, located in the center of the complex.

Despite the fact that Fourni is a very beautiful island with many lovely coves and emerald waters, the island remains off the beaten track.

Getting Around

HOW TO GET AROUND FOURNI | Car Rental, Scooter / ATV / Bike, Hiking

Fourni is a very small island. There is only one town and a few beaches to discover, so a car is not really needed. The majority of the tourists make their way on foot since most things are within walking distance. You can rent a car, scooter or bicycle but the road network is small. Most beaches and the neighboring island of Thymena, are served by caiques in the summer, departing from the main port. Fourni is also a good place for hiking. Another option is to hire a small boat to explore the more remote beaches.
